Getting Started
Do I need to be tech-savvy to use Echoes?
Not at all. Echoes is designed to be intuitive for anyone, including grandparents and older relatives. Download the app, create an account, and start talking. Setup takes under a minute — no technical skills required.
What devices does Echoes work on?
Echoes is currently available on iOS (iPhone and iPad). You can record on your device, and your stories are securely stored in the cloud.
Can I record offline?
Echoes requires an internet connection for the AI-guided conversation. If your connection drops mid-session, your recording is saved locally and will sync when you reconnect.
How do I set up an account?
Download the app, enter your email, create a password, and you're ready to go. The setup takes less than a minute. No credit card required until you purchase.
The Experience
How long are recording sessions?
Sessions can be as short or as long as you want — up to one hour each. Most people record between 15–45 minutes per session. The free tier includes 15 minutes total to try it out. The AI adapts to your pace.
Can I edit or re-record conversations?
You can't edit the original recording, but you can re-record if you want to capture something again. We keep the original so your story stays authentic.
What if I don't know what to say?
The AI handles that. It asks thoughtful questions, listens to what you share, and adapts based on your answers. Think of it as a conversation partner — you don't need a script.
How often should I record?
There's no set schedule. Record weekly, monthly, or whenever inspiration strikes. The key is that each story builds on the last, so consistency helps. Most people find their own rhythm.
The Audio Story
When does my Audio Story get produced?
After you complete 5 stories, Echoes automatically produces your Audio Story — an AI-narrated memoir woven with your real voice recordings. It's typically ready within minutes and available to listen to and share right away.
Can I download my Audio Story?
Absolutely. Once your Audio Story is produced, you can download it and listen offline on any device. You own it.
Can I share my Audio Story with family?
Yes. You can generate a shareable link that family members can use to listen to your Audio Story. You control who has access and can revoke it anytime.
Privacy & Security
Who has access to my recordings?
Only you — and anyone you explicitly invite to share your stories. We never listen to or access your recordings. They're encrypted and stored securely.
Are my recordings encrypted?
Yes. All recordings are encrypted in transit and at rest. This means your data is protected from interception and unauthorized access.
Will Echoes use my stories for training or advertising?
No. We never use your stories to train AI models, improve products, or use them for advertising. Your voice and stories are sacred and belong only to you.
What happens to my stories if I delete my account?
All your recordings are permanently deleted. We can provide a backup download before deletion if you'd like to keep them. Once deleted, they're gone — we can't recover them.
Can I designate who inherits my stories?
Your stories are stored securely with encryption at rest. You choose your data retention period during setup — keep stories indefinitely, or set them to auto-delete after a specified time. We're working on legacy contact features for a future update.
Gifting
How long is a gift code valid?
Gift codes never expire. They can be redeemed anytime, so there's no rush. Perfect for giving someone time to start when they're ready.
Can someone use a gift code if they're not in my country?
Yes. Gift codes work globally. Echoes is available worldwide, so your gift can be redeemed from anywhere.
What if the recipient doesn't want to use their gift?
The gift code is tied to them once redeemed, but they can choose not to use it. If they need a refund, reach out to us within 30 days of redemption and we'll help.

Is Echoes a subscription?
No. You pay once and own it forever. Essential is $99, Audiobook Edition is $199, and the Legacy Bundle is $349. No monthly charges, no surprise fees. Just one price for lifetime access.
What's included in each tier?
Essential includes the full AI interview across multiple journey paths, branded PDF transcripts, AI-generated summaries, and Memory Vault storage. Audiobook Edition adds a produced Audio Story memoir in three styles — Raw, Narrated, or Documentary — woven with your real voice. The Legacy Bundle includes everything plus a hardcover book (coming soon), family sharing for up to 5 members, and priority support.
Can I upgrade later?
Yes. You can upgrade from Essential to Audiobook or from Audiobook to Legacy at any time. Within 7 days of purchase, you pay only the price difference. After 7 days, a small premium applies.
